In the movie „Kids“, the kids
used the skate to beat the intruder.

The skateboard grabs the side edges with both hands like a bat, swings and hits the deck on the board. This method works but has many drawbacks.
In the first place it is very predictable. Another drawback is that the effective distance (range) is not great .
The impact itself is not very fast and can be easily avoided.It can be added that the grip is not
comfortable and stable and the board can be dropped! This folk technique is used to strike and is effective against unprepared or weak opponents.
As many disadvantages as there is,an indisputable fact is that – this is the first method of using a skateboard for combat!

Since ancient times, the use of shields by warriors has been widespread throughout the world.
Shields were different types depending on the needs and the way of fighting.The ancient Greeks used a large, round and heavy shield.
The Romans used an elliptical and curved which over time changed to rectangular.The Vikings used round wooden shields.
During the Middle Ages, small fist shields were widely used in Europe to provide protection and good mobility.
An interesting fact is that they were used not only for protection but also for striking!
In training, even the Roman legionaries trained to strike with the iron protrusion and also with the edges of the shield to throw the enemy off balance.
These historical facts speak eloquently of the effectiveness of this type of weapon, which has been proven over time.
Based on this historical reference, it can be concluded that Battleboard is a worthy successor to combat training with a shield!

Because I want a Battleboard to develop I have taken a journey to all martial arts! I want to borrow from them to apply to a Battleboard!
My next stop is Brazilian Capoeira! I think Capoeira has a lot of techniques and customs that can successfully fit on a Battleboard!
So my capoeira workouts start!
